WE PRAISE GOD!!  Back in 2009 on October 23rd and 24th, a large "Jesus is Mine 2009" Deaf crusade happened in Austin, Texas!  After 18 months of planning, more than 7 local Deaf Ministries all came together at a neutral location to learn and share about the mighty love of God.  Almost 500 persons came for one or more of the many events that were all done with American Sign Language as the first language.  We also provided interpreters for English-speaking (hearing) persons, deaf-blind persons, and more.  And we fed more than 200 persons at the free lunch on Saturday!

Separate worship services and activities were planned for nursery, kids, youth, and adults.  Special guests Rev. John and Suzan Graham (adults), Nathan Fylstra (youth), and Vonda Hamilton (kids) did wonderful in all of their ministries!  Some special songs were done by choirs and individuals.  There were also 12 exhibit booths with tons of information given out.

And the best news of all - we know of at least 12 persons that accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into their hearts for the first time!  Many other people were touched by the power of God!

Here is one of the songs that was done on Friday night, Oct. 23, 2009.  This song is called "Just Between You and Me" and done in ministry here by Tammy Weidemann, former Miss Deaf Texas.

The next Austin Deaf Crusade is tentatively planned for January 2012.  The crusade planning committee is already meeting regularly to pray, plan, and see what God has ready for the next event.

Volunteers are needed to help - if you live in the Austin area and would like to join the planning committee, email to
